Privacy / Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

Welcome to The Arch & Altar (thearchandaltar.com), operated by Andrew Latham (“we,” “us,” “The Arch & Altar”). By enrolling in a course, creating an account, or otherwise using this site, you agree to the terms below. Please read them along with our Privacy Policy.

Enrollment & Who These Terms Are For

The Arch & Altar offers live, online courses for high school–age students. Courses are purchased by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of an enrolled student. By enrolling a student, you confirm: “I am the parent/guardian of the enrolled student, and I am purchasing this course on their behalf.”

Payment

Enrollment is per semester, per course, and payment is due at registration. We accept payment by credit/debit card (via Stripe) and PayPal. The Arch & Altar does not store your card number — payment is processed directly by Stripe or PayPal. Families enrolling three or more courses may use coupon code FAMILY20 for a 20% discount on each course; this discount is offered on the honor system for genuine family enrollments.

Refund Policy

Full refund through the second week of classes, prorated through week four, none after – contact Andrew for further info or extreme circumstances and we’ll work with you as best we can!

What’s Included

Every enrollment includes live class sessions, recordings of each class, downloadable study notes, and hand-graded tests and a final exam. Classes are taught via Zoom according to the published course calendar.

Class Recordings & Privacy

Live classes are recorded for the benefit of enrolled students who miss a session. These recordings may include the names, voices, and likenesses of other enrolled students who participate in discussion. Recordings are posted only to the enrolled course page (not made public) and are visible only to other students and parents enrolled in that same course. By enrolling, you consent to your student’s participation being recorded and shared with fellow enrolled families on this basis.

Accreditation & Transcripts

The Arch & Altar is a course provider, not an accredited school. Parents remain the school of record for their student and are responsible for recording credit on their own homeschool transcript. As a guide: one religion track (Fall + Spring) is generally equivalent to one credit-year of religion; Art History I is generally equivalent to one credit-year of fine arts. Families should confirm equivalencies with their own state homeschool requirements or umbrella school, as applicable.

Grading

Tests and exams are written-answer assessments, graded personally by the instructor. Grades are provided to parents for their records. While we’re glad to discuss a grade, final grading decisions rest with the instructor.

Class Conduct

Students are expected to participate respectfully in live discussion. We reserve the right to remove a student from a live session, or to decline continued enrollment, in cases of serious or repeated disruptive conduct, with notice to the parent.

Course Materials & Intellectual Property

Course materials (lecture recordings, study notes, slides, quizzes) are provided for the personal educational use of the enrolled student and their immediate family only. They may not be redistributed, resold, posted publicly, or shared outside your household.

No Guarantee of Outcomes

We aim to provide rigorous, faithful instruction, but we cannot guarantee specific grades, transcript acceptance by any particular institution, or other outcomes. The Arch & Altar’s liability for any claim relating to your enrollment is limited to the amount you paid for the course in question.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued enrollment after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
